Fae Moon – May 2026 Teaser

Fae dust, a harbinger of hidden sweets, tricksters, and changing seasons, begins gently drifting about Midway. But within its lulling, sugar-sweet sense of quietude and indulgence lies the unmistakable fragrance of rot, like a corpse hidden within a banquet, and you feel a deep withering growing in your bones, in your very marrow.

A stranger arrives. The tavern door does not whine open on its hinges as the figure emerges through it, dressed in gossamer folds of fabric—shadowy jacquard and shimmering frocks as soft as violets and fallen butterfly wings. A trail of twinkling dust swirls in their wake, and you notice pointed ears and bands of purple and shadow across their eyes.

They glide to the center of the tavern, and speak. “Greetings, denizens of Midway. I come to you from a home that you will not know and few will remember, and offer you an invitation. But before I do so, you must prove yourselves three times.”

“First, you must learn the location of my home and how to navigate to it. Second, you must learn its name. And finally, you must discover and complete a series of challenges that will be hidden amongst the treasures my brethren leave about your town. If you can prove your worth and wit, then meet me at the gates of my home, where you must face one final challenge as a town. I will leave you with clues in a few days’ time.”

“If you succeed, we will welcome you to our home and its many wonders, we will offer to join forces with you, and we will share a secret with you. For we too, have seen the spirits returning, as they have within this place. We too have heard their whispers, and their silent screams, and we have begun to remember that which should have remained forgotten. We have begun to remember the Pale Gate.”
